Cloud Storage - Size Doesn't Matter

Google Drive is supposedly heading our way next week. Whilst it'll be handy to have a spare 5Gb to lob stuff into, what a lot of cloud storage providers don't seem to recognise is that, it's not how much storage they give you, but the integration that counts.

This is why Dropbox is succeeding. It's everywhere. Almost every iOS app I use where sync is needed uses Dropbox and it, well, just works.

I have a SugarSync account - which I paid for. It has about 50Gb of space on it, and I barely use it. Why? Virtually no integration with other software. Without that, it's gathering dust on my system.

Whilst I'm sure Google Drive will be useful, it ain't gonna be a Dropbox, at least not in the short term. They - and everyone else - are simply too far behind. The developers of all of those terrific Dropbox synching iOS and Android apps are going to need something really compelling to get them to build yet another sync option into their apps when they already have a perfectly usable one.
