I've been seriously thinking about getting an unlocked Nexus for my next phone. I'm getting fed up paying stupidly high contract fees and I'm getting increasingly bored with iOS (it really doesn't look a whole lot different than it did when it was released) and now, with Google's announcement on the new/updated Nexus range, it's looking like a no-brainer.
I can happily see myself with a Nexus 4 and a pay-as-you-go, non-contract sim, or even one of the all-you-can-eat SIM only contracts from the likes of Three might do the trick. Either way, it's gonna be a whole lot cheaper than my current iPhone contract, plus Nexus means lovely native Google and very fast update releases.
It'll be interesting to see what the UK price is come the 13th November, but even if it's a straight $ = £ exchange rate (which I assume it won't be, given the pricing for the "original" Nexus 7 when it was released), it looks to be a bargain.
Update: According to Android Central, UK prices have been set at £239 for 8GB, £279 for 16GB for the Nexus 4. Done deal for me. Looks like they're going after Apple big time with that pricing and they might just win.
