Sometimes it's good to be wrong. I remember seeing the last air show flight of XH558 and I honestly believed I'd never see the Vulcan fly again, but on Thursday, Vulcan XH558 returned to the skies for the first time in 14 years. You can read the full story and watch a video of the flight over on the BBC web site.
I was pretty heavily involved with the restoration of XL426 at Southend Airport and have fond memories of working on the aircraft, in particular helping to fire up those incredible engines.
Vulcan To The Sky, in charge of the restoration of XH558 have had a tough time in the past, but I'm delighted they've finally achieved what they set out to do and I look forward to seeing the Vulcan back on the air show circuit.
